To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
Time goes on.
With only one more day left now this year, I sit here to reflect on what life, or, to be honest, what God has taught me this year.
God has taught me, through the loss of two of my uncles, that we can only live while we are still alive. Life is about living, not simply existing. Life is all about God and the measure of Him we allow into our lives. Not simply a big announcement or confession of belief type of life, but living out what we believe in, in every moment and every area of our everyday lives.
Life is also about death. And our decision about where we go after we die. That decision is based on our relationship with the LORD God Almighty, Creator and Source of all life, and His Son, whom He sent, Yeshua Hamashiach.
And that has made the passing of my uncles, and, indeed, the passing of all my loved ones before them, bearable. Bearable because I know that before their deaths, they made decisions of faith, and accepted Yeshua Hamashiach as their Lord, Saviour, and King. They have passed on, eventually, into eternal life with Him. Oh, what a promise to look forward to!
For us who remain, soon dawns a new year, and I for one am excited about the possibilities that it brings. With the lessons and hard truths I’ve learned this year, I know for a fact that trusting the LORD God with my all, He makes everything possible according to His will and purpose, which, when all is said and done, is exactly where I am meant to be. In His will and purpose.
Blessed New Year to you!
Prayer
Abba Elohim, Baruch Hashem Adonai!
LORD God Almighty, in the power and authority of the Name and the Blood of Your Son, Yeshua Hamashiach, I thank You for Your faithfulness, for Your love, mercy, and grace! May Your Name be exalted in all the world, in every tongue and language, by every man, woman, and child. For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and all the Glory forever and ever! Amen.
