Yeshua Hamashiach, The I AM

How long must you keep us doubting?

Even after all the miracles and His teachings, the Pharisees and the teachers still doubt Yeshua’s divinity. Such doubt might be expected of a foreigner, someone who’s never heard of God, but Jews, who learned about Him from childhood and were taught the laws and commandments? It sounds like something else is at play here.

It’s clear that they were expecting someone like them to be the Messiah — learned, a man of good standing in the community, knowledgeable of the prophecies, and overall a good Jew. Certainly, not Yeshua whose paternity is in question — something the Jews brought up when they declared that they were ‘not illegitimate children’ (John 8:39) — and He is unlearned. Plus, they dismissed Him because He’s from Galilee when they were expecting a prince from the house of King David.

Despite their rude and crude disdain of Him, Yeshua keeps opening Himself up to them. He tells them that He’s the door, the only way to eternal life and He’s the Good Shepherd who takes care of His sheep. Over and over He tells them in so many ways that they just need to quiet down, be still and listen to the voice of God speaking to their spirit, telling them that all they’ve learned is now a reality. That God is now here, right in front of them, and He’s inviting them to move beyond the pages and letters of their laws and look up into the face of God.

God issues you and me the same invitation today, right now. Don’t miss it or you’ll miss Him.

Pray with me

God of all creation, O how wonderful You are! Thank You, Lord God for who You are. In Yeshua, we pray. Amen.
